I excitedly called my sister, then Monica at our store to tell them. As I was reading the article to Monica, I thought out loud that this might just be an April Fool's Day Joke. Then I said, "No, they wouldn't print that in the paper."
Monica suggested we read the comments, and sure enough, we learned it was all a joke.
After I got off the phone, I decided to Google the rumor, and found this write up about Amarillo.
Our family loves this area of Texas, and we enjoy the attractions as a family, including Palo Duro Canyon, the American Quarterhorse Museum, The Donut Stop, Cadillac Ranch, and of course the beautiful sunsets. And I've written about the wonderful Nutcracker performance that the Lone Star Ballet puts on every year, as well as the beautiful Globe News Center for the Performing Arts where the girls' ballet recitals are held each year.
April Fool's Day jokes aside, it really is a neat area to raise a family. I say "area" because we live down the road in Hereford, and we love it here -- especially the people (maybe not so much the everchanging aromas!)
