Vegas Tour, Part 2

On Wednesday morning, Dennis took Jack and Rachael to the pool so that they could enjoy the wave pool and the lazy river.  Unfortunately, their wave pool jaunt was cut short when the lifeguard saw Rachael running into the waves, blew his whistle and made her stand next to the ruler guide to make sure she was tall enough (48").  She was 1" too short!  So the three of them went to the lazy river instead.  Avery, Sam and I took a TRAM ride over to the Excalibur to pick up some Krispy Kreme donuts.  Once everyone was back in the room, I headed over to market while Dennis took the kids out and about.

Their afternoon began with the Shark Reef Aquarium at our hotel.  I think I need to give lessons on the camera.  The only picture that came out was one of an octopus.

Everyone liked the In-N-Out Burger so much, that Dennis took them to lunch there again.  Then it was off to the Mirage to the Siegfried and Roy Secret Garden and Dolphin Habitat.  The kids loved seeing the different animals, including two white tigers.  There was a ticket price involved, so I think Dennis was expecting some type of show, but instead the handlers fed the dolphins and provided information on dolphins and their habitat.

Next they headed over to the Bellagio to see the botanical gardens, and Dennis's favorite attraction, the Fountains at Bellagio.  While in the hotel, the girls had to go to the bathroom.  Resourceful Dennis found a nice, grandmotherly lady to help them to the ladies' room.  I met up with everyone at the fountains to find a very unhappy Avery.
Do you notice something missing?  Avery got so excited watching the fountains that she somehow kicked her flip flop into the fountain.

These were her favorite shoes.  Yellow OPI flip flops from Wal-Mart.  No longer in stock.

Do you see her shoe out there?
It's there....floating off in the sunset...

Here's a couple of other shots in front of the fountain.

After losing her shoe, Avery just was not interested in smiling for the camera.  We finished the day with a dinner at P.F. Chang's and went by the ARIA (so oppulent!) on our way home.  Here's Dennis and the kids in front of the huge contemporary waterfall at the ARIA.  I held a sleeping Sam while snapping the picture.

One more night in the hotel, and we were off to drive the 14 hour trip home.

And this, my friends, proves that what happens in Vegas does not always stay in Vegas.  (We have other proof of that....different trip, different story!).
