End of School Wrap Up

The last two weeks before school were VERY busy. Along with our usual schedule of school and work, we were occupied with rehearsals, recitals, spelling bees, and awards ceremonies. Jack was involved in two competitive events, receiving a Division I rating (Excellent) on his piano piece, and placing 4th in the school spelling bee.

Rachael and Avery finished out their year in dance with their Academy Unleashed! performance at the Globe News Center for Performing Arts. Watching their performance in this beautiful theatre was a treat!
Rachael was instructed to keep a smile on her face during the performance; what a difference it makes....she looked like she was having so much fun! Her ballet dance was a performance of "Cheery Days" which almost had a holiday feel to it. It was a delight to watch.
Avery hit the stage twice and did a wonderful job in her first recital. She danced to a ballet routine of "I Feel Pretty," followed by a tap dance of "Shake Your Tail Feathers" complete with a feather trimmed pill hat. Very cute!
Rachael began piano lessons in January, and she had her first piano recital the last week of school. She did a great job and we look forward to her progressing through summer lessons.
We rounded out the week with a successful garage sale and a fun day out to the movies for just me and two of my sisters.

Sam is keeping us busy with lots of climbing and getting into things since he can open cabinets AND the refrigerator! He is also taking his first steps, and as always, keeps us smiling. Here he is after eating one of his favorite foods - blueberries!

We are looking forward to a fun and hopefully productive summer!
